D-5: Countdown to the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta

Five days to go.

In less than a week, Kialoa III will cross the starting line of the legendary St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, taking place March 5–8, 2026.

The crew is coming together more each day, not only on deck, where coordination and communication sharpen with every maneuver, but also below deck, where living together offshore builds its own kind of teamwork. Step by step, we’re finding our rhythm.

Last year, the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta was, for many of the crew, a first real step into this level of international competition. Most of us was new on board, eager to learn, full of motivation and curiosity.

The regatta has been and is again this year a training ground. Day after day, from the first start to the final finish, the progress is noticable. Communication and maneuvers become clearer and we, as a team become more confident.

There are still no strict prerequisites to live and sail on Kialoa III. The balance remains the same: passionate sailors, growing talent, and experienced professionals working side by side. That mix is our strength.

And once again, over four intense days, we know something powerful will happen. This is part of the identity of Kialoa III.
Preparation on board already reflects that duality: long sailing days and moments of connection with the island and its people. Racing here is not only about results; it’s about experience.

Now, the focus shifts to strategy: how to race hard, sail smart, and still embrace the spirit of this extraordinary event.

The largest regatta in the Caribbean: the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta blends high-level international competition with a unique atmosphere: beach parties, live concerts and other festivities.

“Serious Fun.” The slogan says it all. That balance just fits Kialoa III perfectly: performance and passion, intensity and enjoyment. For four days, we’ll line up alongside hundreds of boats and crews from around the world, sharing the same trade winds and chasing the same finish lines.

Five days. We’re ready. As Kialoa 3 has always been.

Want to follow our journey? Stay tuned.
